The Short Answer
Favoriting marks a fruit or item so it is not swept away by normal sell or inventory actions. Unfavoriting uses the same action again. Use this before selling your whole inventory, especially when you are holding a rare mutation or a crop you want to keep for a later decision.
Do not confuse favorite status with full garden defense. A favorited item is safer from your own mistakes, but exposed crops still need night protection.

Look for the heart marker before selling. If the marker is still visible, the item is still protected from normal sale actions.
What Should You Favorite?

Safe Selling Routine
- Sort your inventory before choosing any bulk sell option.
- Favorite mutated, rare, or event fruit you may want to keep.
- Sell the rest of the inventory only after checking the heart markers.
- Unfavorite the saved fruit when you intentionally want to sell or use it.
- After a valuable weather event, repeat this check before another harvest cycle fills your inventory.

- Favoriting every common crop and making inventory management slower.
