Grow a Garden 2 Player Magnet Guide

Player Magnet is a high-cost Mythic gear for controlling other players. Buy it for defense or pet-spawn contests only after your farm can absorb the price.

The Short Answer

Player Magnet is a Mythic gear that pulls nearby players toward you for about 10 seconds. It does not grow crops or raise value, so the purchase only makes sense when other players are the problem you need to solve.

Current structured data supports a 7,000,000 Sheckles price. Robux listings conflict across sources, so check the live Gear Shop before making any paid purchase.

When Player Magnet Is Worth Buying

Use caseWhat it doesPractical note
Night defensePull thieves away from crops for a short disruption window.Best when paired with shovel pressure, a Bear, Bee, Gnome, or another defense layer.
Pet spawn contestDrag nearby players away from a high-rarity pet spawn.Useful only if you already have enough Sheckles to buy the pet.
Map controlCreate space around a shop, path, or target area.More situational than direct farming gear.
Social playMove players around for chaos or group moments.Fun, but not a reason to drain your farm budget.

Night Defense Routine

  1. Stand in your garden before night if your best crops are still exposed.
  2. Keep Player Magnet ready instead of opening menus during the stealing window.
  3. Activate it when a thief reaches valuable plants, not when they are already far away.
  4. Follow up with movement, a shovel hit, or another defense tool while the player is pulled.
  5. Harvest or favorite the crop afterward if the risk is still high.

For lower-cost protection, start with the garden protection guide and the best gears guide.

Pet Spawn Control

High-rarity pets can create races around the center map. Player Magnet can pull another player away from the spawn for a short moment, but it does not pay for the pet and it does not guarantee ownership. Only try this if you already have the Sheckles for the pet you are chasing.

If your goal is pet collection rather than player control, compare normal map spawns, Guild rewards, and eggs in the pet guide.

Do Not Buy It Too Early

  • Skip it if you are still saving for core seeds or basic growth gear.
  • Skip it if you mostly play private or low-conflict servers.
  • Skip it if a cheaper Gnome, Flashbang, Bee, or Bear covers the same defense need.
  • Confirm the current Robux price in-game because published sources conflict.
